English Dub Review: Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro “Don’t You Miss Me, Senpai?”

Overview:

Sunomiya encourages Senpai to ask Nagatoro out on a date. On a late walk home, Senpai tries to ascertain if Nagatoro has anywhere she’d like to go on her next school break.

Our Take:

Progress! If there is anything you want in your rom-com then it has to be progress. I’m honestly shocked and impressed that there was this much that happened in the last few episodes. Even Senpai has started to grow a lot as a character and he and Nagatoro both are showing some healthy habits. She is focusing on her Judo now and he’s trying to do better with the art club but they also miss seeing each other so, he gathered the courage and asked her out.

The only thing I found kind of annoying about this episode was when Sunomiya showed up to pick her cousin up on a motorcycle. Her showing up was cool but what person wears their motorcycle suit with their chest that exposed? I know she has a penchant for public nudity but still.

That being the biggest issue I have with the episode shows how much this anime has improved for me. The character development has been amazing and I like where this is going now. Compare this to Rent-a-Girlfriend and it’s like night and day. Give me a third season of this instead of that, I can’t believe how much better this is. Reading my old reviews feel like a different person wrote them.
