“Ryoma and the Local Cuisine”

Our Take

The first episode takes place within the magic item market having some nifty wares being sold. Lots of interesting items that can help in various ways. Met back up with the merchant that Ryoma meet before with the magic cars, and finally seeing that grandson he dotes over. An energetic kid that gets distracted easily, seems about right for a little kid that age. He takes a quick liking to Ryoma leading to something I was very surprised by, Ryoma pulling out the homemade Beyblade. That wasn’t on my radar for things Ryoma could replicate in this world. They worked too, like for real metal sort of prototype Beyblades. The kid seemed entertained which was nice. And the slime that ate the charcoal previous episode has evolved into something unique…

As for the latter episode, Ryoma learning about this town’s festival is leading to some nice collaboration between all the laundromat employees. I liked the beginning of the episode with Ryoma making soap for Elia, and trying to get her a gift. Using those new newly created deodorant slimes to make soap sounds like a great idea. Maybe another thing the slimes produce that Ryoma can sell. Helping out with that smelly fish situation, those otherwise rancid-smelling fish barrels that even monsters won’t go near now can be transported without having to worry about the smell. Thanks to Ryoma and the deodorant slime-smelling solutions. It was nice of the parents of the girls working at the laundromat who are from that village to send some food as thanks to Ryoma. Along with the smelly fish using that wheat and sesame to make some good food. I think it’s a nice idea for them to open a food stall at the upcoming town festival. Pay back the community for welcoming them with open arms.

Both episodes were fun and wholesome in different ways. Ryouma needs to learn to pace himself, glad he didn’t jump at the chance to take on more work by volunteering to train others. He also keeps meeting new gods, I wonder how many more we will end up seeing. While the other episode reveals that it’s finally time for Eliaria and Miyabi potentially meet as we could see the two in the next episode, while the festival most likely is a major setpiece that should be interesting to watch, the traveling musicians seemed ominous somehow…
