Seth MacFarlane’s “Good Times” Animated Reboot Coming This Year To Netflix
Seth MacFarlane just inked a new deal with WME and 2023 is going to be the year of the animated MacFarlane that we’re going to remember for a longtime.
For starters, Family Guy and American Dad, Seth’s initial claims to fame have new seasons on the way, to go along with a brand-new Ted series coming to Peacock inspired by the blockbuster R-rated live-action/hybrid comedy.
Last, but certainly not least, the Netflix animated reboot of Good Times is coming later this year. All ten episodes are incoming with Normal Lear, Carl Jones, Steph Curry, and the aforementioned MacFarlane producing.
The series will feature the Evans family as they navigate today’s world and contemporary social issues. Just as the original did years ago, ‘Good Times’ strives to remind us that with the love of our family, we can keep our heads above water.”
The series will be inspired by the classic sitcom featuring Esther Rolle and John Amos played Florida and James Evans, the household heads of a family living in Chicago’s Cabrini-Green public housing project but Carl notes that he’s looking to take this franchise in a slightly new direction.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
