English Dub Review: Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time Super Extra “Peter Grill and the Goblin Apocalypse”
Overview
Picking up from the previous season, Peter and several Brave Swordsman’s Guild members rush to fight off the Goblin Invasion. Peter manages to save the town from the horny goblins but is informed that Luvelia was captured by elite hobgoblins who look more human. Peter reluctantly gives himself up to save Luvelia’s life. As he is taken to the Goblin Queen, one of the hobgoblins from the “Elite” branch, recognizes Peter…
Our Take
Poor Peter is back with his misadventures, why must this dude endure such hardships which are mostly treated as a joke? For Season 2’s first episode, it’s goblin mating season we’re starting with. To put it mildly, the goblin race is predominantly female and won’t take no for an answer…
During the chaos of trying to stop them from forcing themselves on all the male villagers, the guild dispatched Peter and Luvelia to deal with them, except Luvelia ends up being captured along with Peter and taken to the Goblin nest to suffer a fate that might involve possibly mating with them which makes me wonder how he’ll get out of this one and save his Fiancee?
Overall, this was a crazy start to the first episode and I was a bit surprised by how the whole episode just started with female-on-male sexual assault being played as a joke. But as disturbing as it sounds, it makes sense for this show. I’m also shocked at how heavily censored this is. The artwork and colors seem fine, but certain rays of light are presently covering certain female anatomy and sometimes scenes of nonexistent nipples here and there are placed on the Goblins when they arrive topless as an invading force, which left me wondering if the home release was intended to be more uncensored once it comes out on Blu Ray? And since Luvelia is captured, Peter is in quite a predicament, there’s still a chance this could change due to a specific Goblin Lady who quickly recognized his name and keeps being teased in the intro, but I guess we’ll find out next episode…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
