This Week In Obituaries: Long-Time Music Producer For “The Simpsons” Chris Ledesma Passes
For my money, Chris Ledesma was not only a longtime (34 years) music producer for The Simpsons, but Chris is notable for ME for being really the first “behind-the-scenes” producer of the longest running animated sitcom on FOX to have a Twitter and give fans some semblance of what it is like to work for a legendary series on a day-to-day basis. Now, all of the producers for The Simpsons go nuts on the Elon Musk-owned platform, but until Twitter really hits its stride, for me, it was Chris giving us those notes.
That’s why I was saddened to see this week’s episode of The Simpsons a note announcing Chris’ passing after battling an undisclosed business at the age of 64. Chris worked on the series right up until last year, helping be the technical wizard in the music production for the long-running series that is now handled largely by Jake Schaefer.
Producers from the series have already started to pour their condolences with the likes of Al Jean, Chris’ aforementioned successor, and Josh Weinstein already having made statements.
