English Dub Review: Trigun Stampede “The Running Man”

Overview:

Despite being saved by Vash twice already, the townsfolk of Jeneora Rock decide it’s in their best interest to capture Vash for his bounty. Vash decides to escape, but it’s not just the gun-toting townsfolk he needs to run away from.

Our Take:

We’re only two episodes in and I already feel really bad for Vash. His mother died and his brother seems to be a psychopath. Not only that but the $6,000,000 bounty on him is because of things his brother did. I thought the people of Jeneora Rock wouldn’t let it affect them since he had saved their town two times already but I suppose that is a lot of money to just ignore. So, of course, the two reporters he just met helped him out.

Have I mentioned that I really like the art style of this? I thought that I was going to hate it but it makes everything so smooth. Vash looks like a badass in this style and while I’m thinking about it I hope we eventually learn how he can do some of the things he does. He seems to be a really nice guy but he can get serious when he needs to. Not many people would take on a guy with a gun at close range but he sure didn’t have any problems.
