Samidare declares her intent to destroy the Earth and Yuuhi fights to protect Samidare as the Beast Knights fight to stop the destruction of the planet…

Our Take

The in-fighting has begun between the proverbial Lucifer and her loyal assistant against the other Beast Knights, and Yuuhi’s attempts are surely for his reasons alone to stop Samidare from destroying Earth. It’s kinda ironic given that in the first episode, Yuuhi at first said he would join her but then once it came time he wants to save her actually, everyone helped Yuuhi reach Samidare and tell her she was not alone.

If you look beyond all the superpowers and otherworldly shit that was taken out of the scenario, all of this would boil down to Samidare attempting to commit suicide. Once I connected those dots it got surprisingly emotional seeing Yuuhi being determined to save her and show her that it’s possible she can become an adult and live a good life.

Overall, this wasn’t a bad fight. While the animation was on par, I honestly think Samidare’s reason for destroying earth was absurd (a weird coping mechanism for her deadly illness) which admittedly kinda fits the other events of this series. At the very least, the flashes of memories of the time her Yuuhi and spent together. And Yuuhi literally reached out to Samidare wanting her to stop. It all culminated in an incredibly emotional moment. With one episode left, how can they possibly end this season?
