English Dub Review: Shinobi no Ittoki “Those Taken, Those Taken From”

Overview:

Kidou’s aggressions extend beyond Iga. As chief, Ittoki must bring the Iga village together, leaving no time to be lost in sorrow. And is Kousetsu really a traitor? Tokisada’s investigation reveals a shocking fact.

Our Take:

This show has gotten really dark in the last couple of episodes. Now I like dark stuff and I do like where this is headed. But the main problem and one I have been mentioning for the last few episodes is that it doesn’t really feel like this will have much time to cook. There are two episodes left and I don’t see how this meets a good resolution. I will happily eat my words if I’m wrong though because I really like what is happening.

Kousetsu seemingly killed Ittoki’s mother at the end of the last episode and we learned she was implanted with a brainwashing chip (how original) at some point when she was younger. She is also the daughter of Kidou, the current head of Koga. So like I said a lot of revelations in a little time. Tokisada alleviated some of Kousetsu’s concerns by telling her that she was not the one that killed Yumika. This means no matter what there is a traitor in Iga, but who could that be?
