English Dub Review: Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War “The Shooting Star Project [Zero Mix]”

Overview:

In the aftermath of the Wandenreich’s first invasion, the Gotei 13 tends to its wounded as the Royal Guard come to help rebuild. Though Ichigo is uncertain, Kirinji declares that one night in his hot springs is enough to heal anyone.

Our Take:

I remember watching Bleach and as we saw more and more of the Gotei 13 get revealed they were really unique. But eventually it got to a point where we had seen them all and for the most part we knew what characters to expect. So now we get to see a whole new squad and they’re all captains! Welcome to Squad Zero and now Ichigo is probably going to get a new upgrade soon since his zanpakuto broke. I’ve never really seen that happen in the mainline series so I am intrigued to see how he powers up.

Ichigo has become one of my favorite shonen protagonists mainly because of how he reacts to things. That and he isn’t the dumbest person on the planet, sure he isn’t the smartest either but he at least has some intelligence. I can recognize an upcoming training arc when I see one and I think that is what is about to happen. For the sake of the momentum I just hope it’s a good one.
