OverviewFushi, having spent several decades alone on an island, learns that a village was attacked by the Nokkers…Our Take Fushi is back on his lonely journey toward his next destination of despair with a new face in the mix. Fushi has grown 40 years after Pioran’s death and converted himself to as many lifeforms as he possibly can to understand more of the world, more than just fighting against the increasingly powerful Nokkers with the Beholder providing notices to him. While Season One was directed by Masahiko Murata and produced by Brain’s Base, Season 2 is directed by Kiyoko Sayama (Amanchu! Advance) with Studio Drive (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Seasons 2 and 3) in charge of the animation who usually does minor work for other animation companies so it must be big shoes for them to fill after Brains Base was previously in charge.Overall, that was an intriguing first episode for Season 2. Judging by the proceedings, it looks like we are in for a treat. Hayase’s granddaughter is cute design-wise and, we get to see Tonari again. I’m also glad that everything seems to be good on the pacing side as it’s sometimes hard to like this series after seeing season one. I’m surprised that they used the same opening song this season. Not that it’s bad, but I expected a different piece given the tradition of most anime shows which often change intro/outros or even the visuals between each Season.
