English Dub Review: Shinobi no Ittoki “Shadow and Warmth”

Overview:

For summer break, Ittoki returns to the Iga village. Kirei and Ryoko wind up staying in Iga as well, and everyone has an excellent time together. Ittoki gets to experience the warmth of the people of Iga. All the while, Kirei is sending Suzaku intel on Iga…

Our Take:

So I still feel like Ittoki is not the best main character you could have but things could be on the upswing in that regard. I think Tokisada would be the better main character and I love every scene that he gets which you could argue is great writing or terrible writing. I think with this being a fairly short anime original things will have to start happening fast.

Kirei is an acting spy for the Koga but something tells me that this will change. Based on how her tragic backstory was shown I have a feeling that will lead to her choosing to be on Ittoki’s side once all is said and done. But I can’t wait to see how that goes and hopefully, Ittoki and the gang get something going soon.

With it being a swimsuit episode the girls of course asked Ittoki to rank their swimsuits. It was about as interesting as you’d think it was but one of the funnier parts was Kousetsu still wearing a mask. Honestly, that is most of what has me interested and hopefully, we get to see her face soon.
