English Dub Review: RWBY: Ice Queendom “Where You Belong”
Overview
The city falls along with the deformed Sillies and the robot soldiers affected by the bugs’ rampage. As the situation gets chaotic, Negative-Weiss shows up with a giant statue of Nicholas, capturing the Sillies one after another. Although Jaune bravely confronts the statue of Jacques, who is wearing armor that’s reminiscent of Grimm “Geist”, he and Pyrrha, a resident of the dream, are captured. Meanwhile, Ruby’s party manages to reach the core of the dream where the “Nightmare” had rooted, but Negative-Weiss stands in their way…
Our Take
The story gets progressively interesting as they all venture deeper inside Weiss’s twisted Dream where her negative side remains dominant and doubles down on segregating and imprisoning anything that behaves rebelliously within her own mind.
And even worse, everything Zaiden previously warned them such as the “Nightmare Grimm will never give her victim back willingly”, even with a clear warning of the previous episode that “this is it, you fail now – she dies”, is truly beyond me. The way the Nightmare’s vines slowly wrap and ensnare the environment is suitably sinister. And that foreboding ending… Damn!
Overall, this was another great episode that helps give a sense of urgency to the proceedings with lots of symbolism and references I’m sure anime fans can easily pick up on, especially what happens to Ruby much later on. With four episodes left, Perhaps this is to allow the other characters apart from Team RWBY to get more screen time in the upcoming episodes yet I’m also curious at how they could possibly delve deeper after this.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
