English Dub Review: Parallel World Pharmacy “Those He Couldn’t Cure”
Overview:
The capital is under attack and it’s up to Farma and Bruno to save it.
Our Take:
The empire’s capital is still under attack from Nederland’s holy knights. It’s been established that Nederland and the empire are allies, so the Empress is unsure as to why they’re attacking. Those holy knights are brought down and they reveal that they were unaware of what the black death even was.
Bruno deduces that the one who ordered the attack is Camus de Sade, a former pharmaceutist and Bruno’s former friend. Bruno had a chance to end his life in the past and he chose not to. He thinks that was the wrong decision and now, Camus has become an evil spirit.
Meanwhile, the alarm bell stops. Lotte and Cedric head back to Parallel World Pharmacy and once they get there, the bell starts up again. Lotte and Cedric enter the building, think Farma is there, but Camus ambushes and poisons them.
Farma does return and he heads to the pharmacy with Bruno. Bruno fights Camus while Farma tends to Lotte and Cedric. Camus defeats Bruno and says he wants to perform more experiments using the chemicals Farma has in his lab. However, Farma makes quick work of Camus and puts an end to his plan.
In the epilogue, we see that it takes a couple of months for the epidemic to end. The black death is no longer a threat and Parallel World Pharmacy is once again open for business.
The season finale is a little better than I was expecting. The final fight was predictable, but eventful. It would have been nice to get a little more insight into Camus and more backstory between him and Bruno. His motives aren’t completely clear, but at least he wasn’t just dropped in at the last minute.
I also enjoyed the epilogue. It was nice to see that the threat of the black death didn’t die off right when Farma defeated Camus. It takes a couple of months for it to go away, which I’ll believe because the capital wasn’t affected as badly as the other nations. Overall, the episode told its story pretty well. Some of the build up could have been better, but the payoff was satisfying enough.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
