Review: Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head “Kidney/The Good Deed”

Overview (Spoilers Below)

“Kidney”

Middle-Aged Beavis ruins his kidneys and a donor from Beavis’s past saves the day…STEWART! The operation is a success and we learn that Stewart is a real estate agent. That said, Beavis can’t stand the fact that he has Stewart’s kidney so he destroys it.

“The Good Deed”

Beavis and Butt-Head perform their first ever good deed by putting DDT in the punch at the school dance. For those that don’t know, DDT is a poisonous bug repellent, but these assholes think it’s Spanish Fly. The duo drinks the entire punch bowl and puke until death

Our Take

How about that? A Stewart sighting! I hope we see a bunch more of him because already his grown up depiction is ridiculous, not only keeping the iconic Winger shirt but also adding a douchey blazer to the ensemble. The show continues to score with the middle-aged adaptations of the classic characters which lends one to wonder if THIS is how we’re going to get the Jodie/Daria continuation that is supposed to be a feature-length movie soon. Only time will tell.

In any event, we also get an auto-tuned Beavis this week which, honestly, the producers could probably use this every week because literally every musical artist selected thus far as been auto-tuned to some varying degrees. I do wonder if it kills my guy Mike Judge to have to keep up with these contemporary artists rather than maybe get to do a few classic videos. In any effect, the auto-tune lines helped keep things fresh this week, but I would like to see more of the multiverse Beavis and Butt-Head travelers and maybe do whole episodes on those guys because they seemed to have had a funny premise this week, as well.
