English Dub Review: Saint Seiya: Battle for Sanctuary “Battle for the House of Leo”

Overview (Spoilers Below):

Seiya continues his battle with Aiolia.

Our Take:

Seiya’s fight with the brainwashed Aiolia continues. Cassios interferes and tells Seiya Aiolia will only be freed when he sees someone die. It seems like Cassios wants to kill Seiya given their history, but he actually sacrifices himself. He says he does it for Shaina, but he still ends up saving Seiya and freeing Aiolia.

Sienna is also being pursued, but she refuses to go down without a fight. This causes the villains to run away. Even when she’s close to death, she can defend herself. I don’t know if that shows how powerful she is or how weak these villains are. It could also be both.

As noble as Cassios’ sacrifice is, I found it to be underwhelming. I don’t feel anything for him, but that’s mostly because I have no opinions on the character whatsoever. The way the story was told is fine and so is the execution. If it were a more interesting character, this episode would have had a bigger impact on me.
