English Dub Review: Rent-a-Girlfriend “Youth and Girlfriend”
Overview:
Kazuya decides to spend his all-day date with Mizuhara reclaiming his lost youth… in a very peculiar fashion.
Our Take:
Just when I think this show (and Kazuya) can’t get any worse, we get an episode like this. I thought he was creepy before but then he goes and requests Chizuru to dress in her school uniform. The only thing that made it slightly better was he was in a school uniform as well so at least he wasn’t going for the sugar daddy angle. Still super creepy but we at least move on from that relatively quickly.
What makes all of this so frustrating is that Kazuya is in college. If this was an anime where the protagonist is in middle school or high school that would be one thing but Kazuya is in college. Yet he acts as if he has never even interacted with a girl before. She just asked you to sit next to her bro not sleep with her, chill out. The only thing this show has going for it is that the animation is really good and crisp and the opening and endings songs are bangers. Other than that I struggle to watch this one. Anyway, see you guys next week.
