English Dub Review: Remake Our Life! “Tackling Awkward Situations”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
Tsurayuki’s fiance has arrived intent on dragging him back home, but the up-and-coming writer is dedicated to finishing his game project with his friends.
Our Take:
Well, this is an unexpected surprise. We’re starting the show’s second half with a game project to help Tsurayuki with his financial troubles. But that’s not the only problem we’re facing in this episode.
The other issue that arises for the housemates is the shocking arrival of Tsurayuki’s childhood friend and fiancé, Sayuri, who shows up to bring him back to his family. Unfortunately for the house residents, she doesn’t take no for an answer. So, she visits the household regularly to cook them dinner and constantly bothers Tsurayuki with her seductive ways until he kicks her out.
Additionally, the roommates have to deal with the tight schedule while working on their dojin game during winter break. During that time, Kyoya gets caught in the love triangle between Aki and Nanako, with the latter attempting to win him over. She tried hugging him passionately after receiving help with her music and feeding him more food than Aki. At this rate, Nanako will wind up pushing Kyoya further away from her instead of letting him get close to her. Honestly, I won’t be surprised if that happens.
This episode is precisely what the title suggested: Kyoya tackling awkward situations involving incidental romance. It’s another series of moments where they’re embarrassing to witness, but they still pack a punch with the comedy and drama. My personal highlights of these scenes were when Kyoya helped Aki explain the context of an explicit photo and Aki attempted to examine Kyoya’s thigh. The latter got me laughing hard because the scene was out of context despite Kyoya’s scream in the English dub sounding bland.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
