English Dub Review: Life with an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout “A Guy Who Reincarnated as a Fantasy Knockout and a Choice”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Leaving the squid-worshipping village behind, Tachibana and Jinguji head for the royal capital. Shen, a suspicious-seeming trader they met in the village, accompanies them. On the road, the trader’s motives for following Jinguji are revealed. The group arrives in the royal capital, Ishurna, thanks to Shen’s guidance, and heads for the temple of the Goddess of Love and Beauty to gather information on the Demon Lord, but once there, an unbelievable sight unfolds before them.

Our Take:
Now that we know how Jinguji suddenly loses his powers, he and Tachibana will have to stay together during their journey to Ishruna. But, of course, it isn’t without an additional acquaintance by their side. The driver who assisted Jinguji in rescuing Tachibana, Shen, decided to accompany them until they reached the capital. Unfortunately for them, Shen turns out to be more than just a driver who captures beautiful women.
Shen is actually a skilled assassin whose eyes are set on Jinguji. He drugged Jinguji’s food to weaken him, resulting in Tachibana attempting to charm Shen to no avail. However, it’s later revealed that Shen wants to give Jinguji a back massage. I guess that’s one way to know if Shen is trustworthy or not.
But, of course, that’s nothing compared to what the second half of the episode delivered. After arriving in Ishruna, Tachibana and Jinguji encounter a priestess who takes them to a pool party where people wear nothing but their underwear. The only problem with that is that they, too, would have to participate by wearing only their underwear, much to Jinguji’s frustration and Tachibana’s embarrassment. When people spot Tachibana’s mark on her back, they accuse them of blasphemy and start attacking them, but the royal troops interrupt their brawl.
As expected, this episode offers another series of embarrassing moments that lead to some hilarious results. The first half, in particular, represents more information on the characters’ new ally, Shen, including his assassin stats and a high interest in men. It also features a humorous attempt from Tachibana to charm Shen with her body, which doesn’t bode well for Jinguji’s condition.
However, I would have to say that the episode’s second half made me laugh the hardest. While it’s not as explicit as I thought regarding people wearing underwear, the scenario works well with the humor and the characters’ far-fetched reactions, especially Tachibana. It’s humiliating, no doubt about that. But like the previous episodes, it’s portrayed in a way that’s more funny than cringe-worthy. With only a few episodes left in the season, it’s easy to see that a nude party won’t be the only thing to worry about during our stay in Ishurna.
