English Dub Review: Don’t Hurt Me, My Healer! “As usual, Alvin and Carla have to overcome a series of crises…”
Overview:
Alvin’s party come face-to-face with a thief, a golem, and deadly poison.
Our Take:
The party is taking a cart of medicinal herbs they received from the witch in order to finish their quest. They get stopped by a thief, but she’s not very good at what she does. She does end up leaving one of their backs, so her mission was a success, even though it was given to her.
Later on, they face off against a golem. Alvin has no chance of defeating him, but Carla kind of helps him. She tells Alvin to beg, which makes the golem back down.
Shortly after, Altargaia is dying of poison. Carla gets him to expel the poison, but it ends up infecting Alvin instead. Carla tries to help Alvin get better, but she does a terrible job as usual. However, he efforts feel a little more sincere than usual.
This episode surprised me. I won’t say it’s good, but it’s pretty decent. I found the thief to be pretty entertaining and I hope we see her again. She started the episode off a good comedic note.
The interactions with the golem are also funny. I’ve always liked the show’s gag of the monster having to wait while Alvin and Carla are arguing. It’s revisited in this episode and it still works.
Carla is still up to her usual antics that I don’t like, but she shows the slightest amount of growth. Her and Alvin have a fine bonding moment. It’s not much and I don’t think it’s completely deserved, but I would much rather see this than Carla’s usual nonsense.
I wish the rest of the show could have been like this up to this point. Hopefully, this is a sign that there will be improvements for the rest of the season.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
