English Dub Review: I’m Quitting Heroing “MY NEXT INTERVIEW’S AT THE DEMON QUEEN’S PALACE!”

Overview:

After defeating the despicable Demon Queen, Leo Demonhart does not earn a hero’s welcome, and those he fought to protect now regard him with suspicion and hostility. With nowhere else to go, Leo seeks employment with his former nemesis!

Our Take:

I am sure some questions will definitely be answered but I think the beginning of this hints toward Leo being an isekai protagonist but only time will tell on that one. What doesn’t need to be answered is how hilarious this whole premise is. Can you imagine a hero asking a villain for employment after everyone turns his back on him?

When it comes to Sentai dubs I always feel like their hit or miss. I don’t know how to describe it other than sometimes it feels like the performances are phoned in. I know it’s not a talent issue because they hire a lot of great voice actors but something about the recordings just sounds off. Andrew Love is a typical staple of Sentai dubs and of course, he appears here and I like hearing more of him. There are a lot of decent VAs in this so I have high hopes for how it turns out.

As per usual, most first episodes are just a lot of setup but the idea here is hilarious. Leo has his work cut out for him trying to convince the Demon Queen to hire him after defeating her though. Luckily, it seems her Lieutenants know not to look a gift horse in the mouth when it comes knocking.
