English Dub Review: Tomodachi Game “Hurry Up and Switch Sides”

Overview:

Yuichi, who hasn’t left the starting point in the two days since the game began, suddenly announces his desire to switch to Group K. The Group K members, puzzled by Yuichi’s apparent intention to abandon his hiding teammate, ask their Captain to decide whether or not to let Yuichi in. Meanwhile, Tenji, who has stayed in hiding and trusted Yuichi all along, is finally reaching his physical breaking point.

Our Take:

I knew Yuichi had something up his sleeve and man was it awesome. He let the girl in on his plan just enough and she seems to be just crazy enough to want to see him pull it off. She might be regretting that just a little bit now but she still seems all-in on Yuichi.

He also had to know that Tenji was getting close to breaking so he knew exactly what needed to be done. It was nice to see how much Tenji believes in Yuichi. I think survival game anime like this is interesting because you can go from hating a character to loving them pretty quickly. I do think sometimes it isn’t the most believable with how quickly they gain each other’s trust but what do I know? I think my only issue with this one was that one of the members of Team K decided to switch over, but I don’t know why? Sure it’s because of the girl but after what Yuichi just did why would you trust him? We’ll find out next time I suppose.
