English Dub Review: Orient “Where This Road Leads”

Overview:

Musashi, Kojiro, and Tsugumi are lost in the wilderness when a chance encounter sets them on course for a new adventure.

Our Take:

I really hope this new character Michiru joins the cast more permanently in the second cour. From a character standpoint, she’s the first girl Musashi’s age that he has found cute, which could be a big deal for any future romance. She also just seems badass, I don’t know how helpful her Kitetsu power will be but it was still cool. Now from a VA standpoint, she was voiced by Xanthe Huynh and I love her voice. That also tells me that this character might be important later on.

Ugghhh I feel like I keep saying this for this anime but why did it take so long to get good? Maybe that’s why it’s already getting a second cour because they knew it was going to be the stronger part. I hope they’re right because the world-building is interesting and it was just starting to come into its own. It’s not the most special anime out there and does a lot of stuff by the book but it did become fun near the end.
