English Dub Review: Love After World Domination “At Last, the Amusement Park”
Overview:
Fudou accepts a mission to infiltrate Gekko’s headquarters and eliminate a weapons threat. However, he only accepts it so he can spend time with Desumi. Afterwards, Desumi tells Fudou about Gekko’s plans to get negative energy from an amusement park. This leads to them having a nice amusement park date.
Our Take:
Fudou’s and Desumi’s relationship continues to develop and go through new phases. In this episode, we see how the two are after spending two weeks apart. This leads to Fudou sneaking into Gekko’s headquarters just so he can see Desumi. Hilarity ensues and Fudou inadvertently eliminates a weapons threat in the process.
Fudou finally gives Desumi his phone number, but it ends being his home phone. We get to meet Fudou’s mother and Desumi suggests that Fudou gets a smartphone.
We also meet the leader of Gekko: Supreme Leader Bosslar. He plans to collect negative energy to summon demons and take over the world. Desumi suggests that they target an amusement park, but that’s really just so she can go on a date with Fudou.
Gekko and the Gelato 5 end up fighting at the amusement park while Desumi and Fudou sneak away to have fun. Of course, their date is sweet and wholesome as always. The twist is that Haru Arisugawa, also known as Pink Gelato, sees a picture of Fudou and Desumi on one of the rides.
This is starting to get interesting now. Fudou and Desumi have been trying so hard to keep their relationship a secret up to this point. Now that Haru has at least an idea of what’s going on, I wonder where this will go. I’m curious if she’ll ask Fudou about it or even if she’ll tell her other teammates. This could add some tension to this otherwise light-hearted show.
Speaking of the show’s usual nature, I never get tired seeing Fudou and Desumi together. Whenever both of them are on screen at the same time, we’re bound to get funny and sweet moments. Desumi sitting on top of Fudou to hide him from her henchmen and Fudou’s mom answering Desumi’s phone call take the cake in this episode.
I didn’t get quite as much enjoyment out of this episode as I did from the last. That being said, I like the direction the show’s headed in. Now that our favorite couple has been discovered, it’s anyone’s guess as to what will happen next.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
