English Dub Review: The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt “I’ll Give It a Shot”

Overview:

Falanya offers to attend important events in Mealters in Wein’s stead, upsetting Lowa’s scheme. But she quickly adapts by trying to get Falanya to say that Natra is on her side.

Our Take:

Wein was hardly in this episode which gave a few other characters time to shine. The one who got the most screentime was his sister, the princess Falanya. It was pretty interesting to see the difference in how she and Wein act. Wein is fairly confident in all his political maneuvering whereas Falanya is new to most of it. But she did have one of the better teachers in her brother.

Nanaki finally got a bit more screentime which was nice. Seeing him throw out the psychology of getting people’s attention in a conversation was really interesting. He and Falanya were watching a short noble capture the attention of a crowd and to me, it was just fascinating. Way more than it probably should have been honestly.

This is one of the first times I have heard Amber Lee Connors voice such a young and soft character. She does an amazing job and now that I got more time with the character I feel she was the perfect casting choice. My only negative is that if you are going to give the young princess agency to make political decisions then you should fully commit. Wein showing up at the end was cool and exciting but also put a damper on anything Falanya would or could do from then on.
