English Dub Review: Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These “A Stormy Night”

Overview:

Mittermeyer’s sense of justice has unleashed the wrath of Duke von Braunschweig, one of the most powerful men in the Empire. He may now be executed without going through military court. Fearing the worst, Reuenthal turns to Reinhard to save his friend.

Our Take:

Mittermeyer almost got, got but luckily he has a really good friend in Reuenthal. I felt like if there was any group of people in this that were the “villains” it would be the group that is like a space empire. But that is what I get for assuming huh? I mean sure they might turn out to be bad but all armies have bad and good which I think is the point this show is trying to make. What I do know is that Reuenthal and Mittermeyer are great friends and I want to see more of their story if possible but they seem like more side characters, unfortunately.

I like that we spend time with both sides of the conflict. It makes the war more human to me. All the advertising for this series made me think Reinhard was gonna be a dick but he has been really cool so far. It also helps he’s voiced by Aaron Dismuke who always does an awesome job. Speaking of, I hope he gets a lot of rest. I don’t know what it means for future episodes of this show in particular but he is getting some much-needed vocal rest. Health is more important than anime so rest up Aaron!
