English Dub Review: Attack on Titan “Pride”

Overview:

Upon reaching Ragako, Connie hatches a plan to trick Falco into being eaten by his mother. Elsewhere, the hero of the Eldian Empire, Jean is to execute Yelena and Onyankopon for their crimes against humanity.

Our Take:

I think the best joke in Attack on Titan history got played today, both in the episode and in real life. If you haven’t heard Attack on Titan: The Final Season will be finishing with a third part that will come out in 2023. Now I don’t mind taking the time to do an adaption right because a bad show is bad forever in most cases but there are a couple of problems. Maybe don’t call something the final season when you are going to end up fitting what amounts to two seasons worth of show in it and continue to market it as the end. It also seems like it was announced last second after the “final” episode aired and I don’t know about most other people but it was a shock to me. In the end, though I love Attack on Titan and feel like it’s not just one of the best anime’s ever but one of the best stories period so I will be patient and wait. I think it might have something to do with it being a decade since the anime first aired at that point but who knows, I just hope 2023 gets here soon.

Sorry about that tangent, as for the episode it was great. Even with Conny’s dumbass attempt at feeding Falco to his mom. That’s where the joke comes in, can you believe this guy actually convinced Falco they needed to brush a Titan’s teeth? Hilarious. But man all the characters have grown so much that I love it. I feel like that is all I say every week but it’s true. After this episode and the episodes to come (Hopefully), I think Armin might be my favorite character. I still love Eren and can’t wait to see how it all comes together and I hope it’s a Lelouch from Code Geass situation but we’ll see. Shout out to Connie for being one of the most realistic anime characters I have seen. He’s dumb, and he makes mistakes but he learns from them and brings a very human element to the show. Hats off to you my dude, you are one of the greats.
