WonderCon 2022: Adult Animation Panel Lineup
April 1st
- WBHE: DC Showcase – Constantine: The House of Mystery – 6:30-7:30pm, 200A
The panel will focus on the yet-to-be-seen Constantine: The House of Mystery extended short, while also discussing the three other animated shorts included on the upcoming release: Blue Beetle; The Losers: and Kamandi, The Last Boy on Earth!
Confirmed to participate on the panel is Rick Morales, supervising producer over all four of the animated shorts; Ernie Albacker, who wrote the script for Constantine: The House of Mystery; Jennifer Keene, writer of Blue Beetle; Jeremy Adams, who conceived the story of Blue Beetle; Tim Sheridan, screenwriter for The Losers: and Paul Giacoppo, writer of Kamandi, The Last Boy on Earth!
The panel will also include Dave B. Mitchell, who gives voice to both Gunner and Sarge in The Losers, as well as some special surprise guests.
In addition, fans will be treated to a few never-before-seen clips from Constantine: The House of Mystery, as well as some lookbacks on the other three animated shorts.
Launched in 2010, DC Showcase was originally comprised of four animated shorts: The Spectre (2/23/2010), Jonah Hex (7/27/2010), Green Arrow (9/28/2010) and Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam (11/9/2010). An additional short, Catwoman (10/18/2011), was attached the following year to the release of Batman: Year One. For 2019-2020, DC Showcase returned with five shorts: Sgt. Rock (8/6/2019) Death (10/22/2019), The Phantom Stranger (3/17/2020), Adam Strange (5/19/2020), and the interactive Batman: Death in the Family (10/13/2020).
DC Showcase: Constantine – The House of Mystery will be available from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Blu-ray (USA $24.99 SRP; Canada $29.99 SRP) and in 4K on Digital starting May 3, 2022.
April 2nd
- Prime Video: Undone – 4pm, 200A
Series stars Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel), Angelique Cabral (Life in Pieces), and Constance Marie (With Love) will be joined by co-creators/executive producers Kate Purdy and Raphael Bob Waksberg (BoJack Horseman) and director/executive producer Hisko Hulsing (Montage of Heck) for a special screening and Q&A ahead of Undone’s long-awaited second season. The conversation will give fans their first insights into how the upcoming season of this critically acclaimed genre-bending series will expand in surprising new directions. - Behind the scenes of The Boys Presents: Diabolical – 5pm, North 200A
Get an in-depth look at the animated anthology series set in the universe of the Emmy-nominated hit The Boys. Executive producer Simon Racioppa (Invincible, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance) and supervising director Giancarlo Volpe (The Dragon Prince, Avatar the Last Airbender) will take part in a Q&A.
April 3rd
- The Bob’s Burgers Movie – 10am, North 200A
Bob’s Burgers creators and cast come together for this first look at the Belcher family’s jump to the big screen. During the panel, they will share never-before-seen footage and answer fan questions. - Woke – 12pm, North 200A
See an advance screening of the Hulu original comedy series Woke season 2 premiere episode, followed by a Q&A with cast and executive producers. Inspired by the life and work of artist Keith Knight, Woke continues to upend Black nerd and activist culture, deftly satirizing with a wink and a smile. The screening will be followed by a conversation with series stars Larmone Morris, T. Murph, and Blake Anderson and co-creators/executive producers Keith Knight and Marshall Todd, along with executive producer/showrunner Anthony King. A co-production between Sony Pictures Television and ABC Signature, season 2 of Woke premieres with all eight episodes Friday, April 8 on Hulu.
