Review: The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder “Snackland”
Overview
Oscar launches Snackland and gets Lizzo to host an event celebrating the grand-opening. While at the first the park seems to be too dangerous to operate, the patrons seem to enjoy their time and it gets to be one of Oscar’s most financially successful gigs until it gets shut-down.
Meanwhile, Penny’s voice is changing and she learns this the hard way as Uncle Robby brings back LPDZ to help perform at Oscar’s park grand-opening. When Lizzo hears about Penny’s troubles, she helps inspire the young teen to be herself and just have fun. Penny’s friends apologize from initially firing Penny from the group for no really good reason.
Our Take
This week’s episode was chock-full off guest stars including Tone Loc, Lizzo, and the one-and-only CEDRIC THE ENTERTAINER! Everyone was strong, even if the Lizzo bit was a bit cliche and just an excuse to get some Lizzo music used as part of a montage. I probably had more fun with Snackland and Oscar doing his best to dodge payments from anyone and everyone and getting rich off of extreme thrills.
The Proud Family continues to broach every facet of puberty, whether it’s unsightly body hair, voice changes, and everything in between, so getting an important morale across but also not forgetting to hit us with the slapstick comedy that usually comes by way of Oscar voiced by the always hilarious Tommy Davidson.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
