Review: The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder “Get In”

Overview

“Get In” is actually the name of the ride-share service that Penny kicks off as a result of her parents not being readily available to pick her up. And like any fledgling operation, you need to get that bag in order to really flourish leaving Penny to do just that on the hit reality series Crab Barrel. After getting an investment, Penny mismanages funds and the business, like most, dies.

Meanwhile, Oscar gets confronted by animal services as a result of his treatment of Mr. Carmichael. The aforementioned monkey gets a gig working for Get In which, again, dies and gets Oscar thrown in jail.

Our Take

Another solid episode, however, I find as the season wears on we’re getting more and more montages which is usually code for rushing through a story break and not figuring out where everything ends up. This episode had quite a few, but the morale of the story was important and it focused on people getting up to get stuff done. Want more money? Work for it. Want to make a difference? Hussle. Love nachos? Be Uncle Robbie. All important information any viewer could use.

Let’s give a big shout out to Tommy Davidson as “Oscar”. In my estimation, he gets more laughs per minute than anyone else on the show both in the dialogue and the Sylvester the Cat-like physical abuse that the character seems to go through on a weekly basis. Love it, and for my money, Tommy makes this show move.
