Our Take
For the first episode, the heart of the story was primarily about Clyde who is given the chance of a lifetime to possibly be train with an accomplished chef from Paris which if successful, would have him be trained in another country and given that his circle of friends (including Lincoln) fear they’ll lose their close friend, it’s understandable why they’d try to take extreme measures to prevent that from happening. Predictably, this felt like a by-the-numbers sitcom situation that ended on sort-of an ok note…
As for 2nd one, at it’s core it was about the Loud twins Lola and Lana meeting their match in a contest that may or may not benefit them in the long-run as they try to sabotage the friendship of two other twins during a contest for an ice cream establishment. Of course like most sitcom like scenarios this doesn’t last…
Overall, both episodes were passable even if they felt cliché at times. Every once in a while the show will focus on characters outside the titular Loud family and that’s sort-of the case here. Clyde’s circle of friends who actually care about him and while it’s under-handed on their end to try and fuck with this possible new future, at the end of the day, it’s Clyde’s decision on whether or not he’d want to actually leave since dedicating your life to one craft doesn’t give you plenty of options in your youth. But at least the ending finds a small compromise of sorts.
While the other episode showed that Lola & Lana despite being twins with extreme opposite personalities aren’t completely terrible people when it comes to their competitive streak and understand the value of siblings, But the ending though did give me a good chuckle with how unpredictable it was…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
