Review: Fairview “Critical Race Theory”

Overview

Imagine ripping off the plot of Don’t Look Up, but take out the climate change lessons and insert the Critical Race Theory lessons, and that’s pretty much the bit this week on Fairview.

Our Take

I think I’m done with this show, everybody. I’m sorry, it’s just not funny. The cute characters have worn off, and every week I feel like the characters are constantly yelling at me to arrive to some point that they never actually get to. I get it, it’s jokes about the current political climate as per Twitter via six months ago, but I could maybe get past all that if I just heard ONE original joke. Just one. Even the talented voice cast isn’t pulling this one through and I don’t even think we arrived at any sort of point this episode was attempting to get across. Even on a slightly weaker week of South Park, that show still gives you elements of comedy that just seem to be completely re-missed from this franchise.

Food for thought, one of the executive producers of this series, Chris Licht, is getting ready to head up CNN. That’s probably where this show should live. Next week is the finale and I’m gonna need a break before Washingtonia premieres.
