English Dub Review: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc: “Things Are Gonna Get Real Flashy!!”
Overview: Uzui (Ray Chase) and Inosuke (Bryce Papenbrook) continue their search for Hinatsuru (Anairis Quinones), Makio (Erica Mendez), Suma (Emi Lo) and Zenitsu (Aleks Le) while Tanjiro (Zach Aguilar) continues his battle with the upper rank demon herself.
Our Take: Uzui’s passion for all things flashy and charismatic attitude is always fun to watch, especially with Tanjiro and gang. However, his chemistry with his wives delves into another side of his personality in how compassionate and kind he is that is shown when he finds Hinatsuru worse for wear and for her to put her life above all else.
Tanjiro continues his battle with Daki, continuing to show how he is progressing as a swordsman. Tanjiro choosing to drop water slash style, or, at the very least, put it on the backburner for the time being in favor of the Hinokami Kagura is a nice point of growth for him. Inspired by Rengoku, Tanjiro is finally coming into his own, doing what suits him best, and setting his heart ablaze! It makes for a fun fight, featuring fast-paced aerial and ground combat with some cool depth in the animation. The battle is by no means in his favor with it getting more intense as he can’t seem to land a decisive blow and is barely able to keep up.
Inosuke being the firecracker he is, is not resting on his laurels and finds the captives held hostage by the tape demon in Uzui’s wives and Zenitsu. His beast style may be wild and ferocious but he uses it with rational and intelligent decision making on the battlefield that even the tape demon takes notice of his skill. Rather than Inosuke developing in a one note fashion and being nothing more than a mindless beast, he has progressed in such a way that showcasing just how competent he is compared to Tanjiro and Zenitsu and in his own unique way.
Makio and Suma, show just how perfectly suited they are for Uzui with each being energetically quirky in their own way. They have fun banter with each other with Suma being an adorable scaredy cat and Makio being a gutsy warrior. Uzui’s deadly silent and razor sharp precision blade work against the tape demon makes for a visually stunning and flashy entrance. Tengen’s heartfelt ideology is pushed even more prominently in preserving one’s own life beyond that of Tanjiro and the gang. Tengen’s beliefs extending to Makio, Suma and Hinatsuru act as a sweet catalyst for how his wives developed their feelings for him, as well as him putting them above even that of regular citizens showing his powerful dedication. Uzui’s flashy moves are just beginning and the more that are surely coming will no doubt be damn fun to watch.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
