English Dub Review: Attack on Titan “From You, 2,000 Years Ago”
Overview:
For 2,000 years, the Founder Ymir has been waiting– a slave to those with royal blood. However, Eren’s yearning for freedom gives her a choice that could shake things up.
Our Take:
If the title of this episode looks vaguely familiar to you then you might have recently re-watched Attack on Titan. Honestly, there are so many throwbacks and different plotlines coming together that I almost recommend doing that. For those keen-eyed observers, you may have realized that the first episode was titled “To You, 2,000 Years Ago” which makes a lot of sense after this episode’s revelations.
Founder Ymir finally gets her story told and it’s just about as messed up as you might be thinking it is. I still have A LOT of questions that will hopefully be answered moving forward but some of it might be up to a manga read. But Ymir’s character is too interesting to be left up to just that.
I have to talk about Bryce Papenbrook. This might be his DEFINING role. He’s always been great at screaming and yelling so younger hot-headed Eren was easy for him. But the cold calculating and downright ruthless Eren? I didn’t know if he could pull it off. I am so glad he made me eat those words because what he brings to the role of Eren Jaeger is absolutely amazing. His version of the “I am Eren Jaeger” speech was haunting and he somehow manages to keep getting better.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
