English Dub Review: The Faraway Paladin “The Faraway Paladin”

Overview:

Will and his comrades narrowly escape the beasts’ trap. Seeing how badly Menel is injured, Will realizes that his capabilities surpass those of his comrades, causing him to put them in danger without even knowing it. Clouded by self-reproach, Will goes to fight the beasts alone, but Menel angrily stands in his way.

Our Take:

The finale is here and it was a good one with a lot of setups. That would normally upset me but since we have a second season confirmed I’m not as upset. This is interesting to me, it seems like there have been a lot of early second-season confirmations for anime lately. I really hope that becomes a trend.

Will was acting like a typical OP brat at first in this episode. “I’m the strongest and no one can keep up with me so I might as well go alone” type of thing. But I hope we all have a friend like Menel when we are being a dumbass like Will. He stood by him and I really like the evolution of their relationship. I’m really glad there is a second season because this one felt like mostly set up for all the cool things in season two. Will seems to be leading a town soon but wasn’t aware, I personally can’t wait to see that.
