English Dub Review: Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki “Multiplayer games have their own special appeal”
Overview
As Fumiya Tomozaki heads to the trip with Hinami, Mimimi, Izumi, Nakamura, Mizusawa, and Takei. While they are alone, Hinami instructs Fumiya to interact with Nakamura three times. She also instructs him to become friendly with Mizusawa as well. At the camp, everyone enjoys themselves.
Later on, Fumiya completes the second task concerning Mizusawa. At the hot springs, he completes the first task while the guys are goofing around. Later that night, everyone decides to split up into teams to take a test of courage, which allows Hinami to tease a flustered Fumiya while they are alone…
Our Take
Not surprised to see Fumiya looking to prove himself yet again even during this camp. To be honest, this episode was actually a nice break to get away from school and hang out and enjoy the outdoors together. Relationships are developing, with one of the highlights being some unexpected cringey dude-bro humor of the men making penis comparisons in this episode. (I swear this actually happens…)
This show also manages to not have enough drama as I can’t help but think that Hinami is purposefully pairing up with Fumiya during this trip. It just feels like Fumiya is slowly clearing a well-balanced game on ‘normal’ difficulty which gives off some strong unrealistic vibes because reality itself is usually quite random. But Why Aoi is stirring things up, remains unclear. I can’t agree with her getting outsiders involved and telling him to date other people, It comes across as manipulative as people could actually get her through this way of thinking.
Overall it seems like people actually like Fumiya’s unfiltered traits, like how direct he is, and his awkward charm. Maybe the only thing he really needed to change was his attitude toward life – instead of seeing things negatively, look at the positives and not thinking of himself as an outsider while the unexpected ending served to create a sense of change within Aoi and Fumiya’s relationship.
With two episodes left I look forward to seeing what that change could possibly be…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
