Review: Apple & Onion “Broccoli” ; “Cousin’s Day”
Overview (Spoilers Below)
“Broccoli”
Broccoli is used as the means in which Onion explains to Apple what the hell happened when he decided to fork-over the entirety of a payment for services to Hoagie without any of those services being completed. Because of this, we spend the entirety of the episode trying to convince Hoagie to finish his job with no compelling reason to do so. The answer? Guilt.
“Cousin’s Day”
Cousin’s day is an unofficial holiday for Hallmark-like companies to make a killing on with selling merchandise. Seeing an opportunity to make a bunch of money so as to impress Patty enough to give Apple & Onion the keys to the store for good, Apple purchases 4,000 “Cousin’s Day” mugs against the company credit card in an attempt to cash in on the craze. Unfortunately, Apple & Onion get sent to jail over a big misunderstanding, the duo leaves with a new fake holiday to take advantage of, thus at least making back SOME of the money that was lost. Patty refuses to give the two the store, but we learn that was the plan all along.
Our Take
Two more strong episodes of Apple & Onion. Both very funny, with Cousin’s Day being slightly better because we got to see a bunch more characters that we don’t get to see all that often. Some of the ideas presented this show definitely skew a bit older, so I can see why this one gets the primetime slot this week. Both episodes go heavy into the lead characters getting into different areas of business that kids may not understand, but at least the older ones will get laughs. Anybody who has taken part in business transactions will have better understanding of the ramifications for both. The characters are still cute as a dickens.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
