Record Label Quality Control Developing TV Series With ‘The Liberator’ Producer Trioscope Studios After Inking Deal

The TV and film arm of the record label Quality Control (their roster includes artists Lil Yachty and Migos) has struck a deal with Trioscope Studios. Trioscope Studios recently released the hybrid animation war drama The Liberator on Netflix. Based on the material they will be working with this seems like a really good match.

The two companies are already in development on their first project. It will be a horror series about the African American struggle in America. Which is based on a graphic novel, after seeing The Liberator this project fits their talents well.

The deal will see the two groups developing projects using Trioscope’s animation techniques in conjunction with Quality Control’s roster of artists and athletes.

Quality Control was founded by Kevin Lee and Pierre Thomas. In addition to Lil Yachty and Migos, they also have a management deal with Cardi B. NFL stars such as Alvin Kamara, D’Andre Swift, and Deebo Samuel fall under the Quality Control umbrella as well.

Thomas, Lee, and Sher will work with Trioscope’s chiefs L.C. Crowley, Greg Jonkajtys, and Brandon Barr via the deal.

Trioscope’s flagship project The Liberator, an adult animated war drama created and written by Jeb Stuart, launched on Netflix in July. The company uses a new hybrid animation technique that combines state-of-the-art CGI with live-action performances. They are currently working on projects with Netflix, Dark Horse Comics, and Unique Features.

Quality Control’s Lee said, “We are excited to partner with the Trioscope team and technology to tell unique and compelling stories that speak to every facet of the Black experience. This is what Quality Films is all about.”

“We’re prioritizing opportunities that redefine how our animated drama platform can shape how stories are experienced,” added Trioscope’s Crowley. “Quality Control has revolutionized the music industry and influenced American pop culture monumentally; through our partnership, we’ll create a unique fusion of culture and animation to take television to the next level.”
