Today In Obituaries 2/1/21: Remembering Marc Wilmore (“The Simpsons” , “F is for Family” , “The PJs”)
Marc Wilmore, a well-renowned adult animation writer having worked on such legendary franchises as The PJ’s, The Simpsons, and F is for Family died yesterday at the age of 57 after complications from COVID and other health-related ailments according to his brother Larry Wilmour who announced the news late last night.
While working on The PJs, Wilmore participated in a prank organized by staff members of The Simpsons, where he pretended he was the mayor of East St. Louis, Illinois and angrily accosted writer Matt Selman over a joke that denigrated the city in the episode “They Saved Lisa’s Brain”. As compensation for his involvement with the joke, Wilmore was given a role in the season 11 episode “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Marge”, in which he played a psychologist. Wilmore joined The Simpsons’s writing staff in the show’s thirteenth season, and received his first credit for the segment “Send in the Clones” in “Treehouse of Horror XIII”. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program as a producer for the episode “Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind” at the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2008.
Most recently, Marc was an executive producer on the Netflix series F is for Family which is in production for it’s final season as we speak.
My sweet sweet brother, Marc Edward Wilmore, passed away last night while battling COVID and other conditions that have had him in pain for many years. My brother was the kindest, gentlest, funniest, lion of an angel I’ve ever known. I love you little brother. pic.twitter.com/Zhcg1U4Evr

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
