Quibi Is Still Getting Nominated For Awards Months After It’s Death
Quibi died last year, but I don’t think it was due to lack of quality content. The likely culprits are over 50-year-old Hollywood executives who have had success in other endeavors trying to understand modern-day social networking trends. That said, here comes the award nominations for the 2021 Critics Choice Awards (not to be confused with the SUPER awards from a few weeks ago) where animated series like The Andy Cohen Diaries and CBS All Access’ Tooning Out The News is among the nominees for best short-form series.
It should be noted that Quibi had numerous adult animation pickups we haven’t even seen. Even with the recent announcement that Quibi content is going to Roku, nothing official has been announced specifically about the animation content. I’ve been poking around trying to get updates as well, once I get some, you’ll get updated.
BEST SHORT FORM SERIES
The Andy Cohen Diaries (Quibi)
Better Call Saul: Ethics Training with Kim Wexler (AMC/Youtube)
Mapleworth Murders (Quibi)
Nikki Fre$h (Quibi)
Reno 911! (Quibi)
Tooning Out the News (CBS All Access)
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
