English Dub Review: Fruits Basket “There’s Just No Way!/Are You Okay?”
Overview
“There’s Just No Way!”
Rin spends the night recuperating at Shigure’s, giving a chance for Tohru and Rin to get to know each other…
“Are You Okay?”
With the school culture festival around the corner, Yuki is kept busy as he juggles the student council and class duties.
Our Take
The former episode excelled as a continuation to “Rins origin story“, while also heavy and emotional, but this time we get the feeling of hope instead of despair. Rin has come a long way and she’s become calm & collected enough to rationally talk to Tohru now, it’s also a big surprise that Tohru was not able to answer Rin’s specific question as her words just didn’t want to go out of her mouth. Both Rin and Tohru have the same goal in mind and although they did clash a few times, the way that they hugged each other, was beautifully done.
As for the latter episode involving the school festival, I was doubting I would like this episode considering that the student council’s presence felt like they were overshadowing the focus of the proceedings, but thankfully my expectations were played within the best possible way. Yuki’s growth has been truly fantastic and the way how he has been learning so many new things from different people outside of the Sohma family and its truly rewarding to see. As for the episode’s conclusion, leaving Yuki’s last sentence in a cliffhanger was kinda odd, but I guess whatever he wanted to say to her, they want to drag the mystery for a bit longer.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
