Report: Quibi To Shut Down
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the future of short-form video service, Quibi, is very much in doubt and that the company has begun plans to take part in a shut down. There have been various reports over the last six months of growth issues, lawsuits, and such, but that hasn’t stopped the Katsenberg-owned service of picking up loads of awesome adult animation left and right.
I mean, we’re talking Gloop World, Trill League, Micro Mayhem, Doomlands, and Futha Mucka. All big names attached to these series like 50 Cent, Justin Roiland, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, and Ryan Reynolds/Samuel L. Jackson, and even that couldn’t help the service pick things up a bit. A recent renewal of Your Daily Horoscope had me thinking things were smoothing out, but I guess that’s not going to be the case.
Here’s hoping every one of these projects get picked up elsewhere because I’m interested in all of them.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
