News From “The Simpsons”: D23-Podcast ; PaleyCenter

It’s too bad that the Treehouse of Horror special isn’t going to air on FOX until November 1st, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have a bunch of news from The Simpsons because the cast and crew were promoting the hell out of it this week anyway Let’s start off with Treehouse of Horror news from the Yahoo panel that went down yesterday.

For starters, while Treehouse XXXI is airing on November 1st, the producers are already working on XXXII and it’s expected that some sort of homage to the Academy Award winning Parasite is going to go down, either in couch gag or short-form for the longest-running animated series in primetime. The Yeardley Smith-hosted panel had a bunch of spirited conversations while mostly about Treehouse for the past, present, and future and you can watch the whole thing here.

Yeardley was also part of the Inside D23 podcast where she noted that the upcoming season will still have Benedict Cumberbatch, Bret McKenzie, Olivia Colman, Stephen Fry, and JJ Abrams as guest stars with Benedict voicing the role of a Morissey send up and Stephen will be going after Grampa in the 700th episode. Even cooler, Yeardley will be guest starring as herself as a podcast host which sounds like fun.

In the meantime, new episodes of The Simpsons do not return until November 1st with Treehouse XXXI that you can get more info about here. Disney+ has also added Treehouse of Horror collections to their lineup of The Simpsons all to coincide with their latest marketing campaign known as The Simpsons forever…here’s hoping they don’t start pulling this shit anytime soon.
