Kevin Smith Is Threatening To Reboot “Clerks: The Animated Series” To Anyone Who Will Hear Him
Kevin Smith has been making the rounds with the internet press this weekend threatening all three people who listen to the Comicbook.com podcast followed by the probably decent readership of Consequence of Sound that he is pitching a reboot of Clerks: The Animated Series.
This isn’t the first time Kevin has been teasing a revival, but now he’s sounding more specific, especially with CoS where he says he plans to head to Hulu to pitch the version of the series that aired on ABC nearly two decades ago. Fortunately, his Clerks cohort Scott Mosier has been able to find out that Disney still has the rights to do more episodes and with everyone (including Hulu) hunting for original animated series, now could be as good a time as any to revive Clerks: The Animated Series.
That said, Kevin Smith last year got a cancel from Hulu for a Howard the Duck series and he’s also working on a revival of Masters of the Universe for Netflix with Powerhouse Animation, so he’s quickly learning all sides of the animation business in it’s current state which can still be political.
For those that don’t remember, Clerks: The Animated Series was a six-episode series that aired on ABC twenty years ago that picked up the silly adventures of the Quick Stop Groceries store featuring the likes of Dante, Randall, Jay, Silent Bob, and whomever else happens to be moseying around ‘Nardo, NJ.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
