Metalocalypse is an American adult animated television series, created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha. Part-American, part-Scandinavian death-metal band Dethklok has a lingering effect on its fans, who take the words seriously and do anything Dethklok lyrics say. The government fears the band’s influence and sets out to destroy it by covert means; for example, by sending military pharmaceutical psychotropic drug manufacturers. Deemed sociopaths for tossing hot coffee at their concert attendees, two of the band members are alcoholics, and they all have self-esteem issues.
Want some interesting factoids in Ballmastrz: 9009? Did you know the show was originally pitched as Killball, then Ballmastrz: 9669, and lead character “Gaz Digby” (Natasha Lyonne) was originally conceived as a male character inspired by Gaz Coombes whom show creator Christy Karacas was listening to at the time.
Whatever the case, Ballmastrz: 9009 has had a stellar second season which comes to a conclusion tonight @ midnight ET/PT only on Adult Swim. The series has featured a slew of anime Easter eggs that you can learn about below.
In Ballmastrz: 9009, thousands of years in the future, teams of Ballmastrz face off against each other using their own hyper-creative and artificially intelligent combat weapons to attack, defend and score.
