The Video Games Most In Need Of Getting An Animated Series Adaptation

Bioshock

Bioshock is a series that wowed many gamers with the twists and turns of its deep story upon its release, but the games also function as satisfying, unique takes on the first-person shooter genre. The alternate world that’s been created in all of the Bioshock games is just fascinating and the kind of environment that would be amazing to see done right through animation. On top of that, the creep factor for the series’ iconic characters like the Big Daddies and Little Sisters could also really be amplified. There’s so much to love and such a rich world at play in Bioshock that also manages to tell a challenging story about control. It became a revolutionary title for video games and there’s no reason that it couldn’t have the same effect on the world of animation. It’s been a minute since Brad Bird has directed 2D animation, but him channeling some of his classical Iron Giant vibes could really work for a Bioshock series.

It may be a little jarring to lose the games’ first-person point of view, but there could be even more done in a series where the damage and effects of this journey slowly wear him down. Bioshock’s foundation is so strong that it’d be a shame to not give this a chance.
