The Video Games Most In Need Of Getting An Animated Series Adaptation
God of War
Titles like God of War made a heavy push to reiterate how mature video games can be and they’re almost intentionally bereft of humor in order to amplify the gruff atmosphere of these experiences. The God of War series has turned Kratos into one of the PlayStation’s most popular characters and the recent reboot of the series was met with the franchise’s best reception yet and showed that love for this character and his world is still very much alive. It’s no surprise that every network is trying to find the “next Game of Thrones” and are throwing a lot of money around at fantasy-action hybrids. Even the Castlevania series apes Game of Thrones at times. God of War feels like a natural fit that could take advantage of this craze. There are plenty of live-action series that are throwbacks to this more ancient time of survival, but there are very few of them in the animated world. God of War could really stand out here as it tells a cold action epic from the past as well as showing the methodical journey that Kratos takes from rebel to God-hood. Bruce Timm’s sterile storytelling that became famous in Batman: The Animated Series would work well with Kratos’ story. Kratos can be a character that runs his mouth, but it’d be a good fit if Timm made him more of a stoic vigilante like Batman.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
