Review: Magical Girl Friendship Squad: Origins “Parent Crap”

Overview (Spoilers Below)

Daisy and Alex’s parents drop by for a little hello when a bounty hunter shows up, steals Nut, and tries to make a run for it. The girls put a pause on their family reunions so that they can use the unholy powers of birth control to get back the creator of the universe. With the parents now in the know of their respective daughters’ altruistic endeavors, they can rest easy now that Daisy and Alex appear to have decent careers in a growing industry?

Our Take

The premise of this week’s episode is so good I wish the producers would’ve saved it for the longer series coming in the summer as I would’ve really enjoyed hearing more of the parents’ veiled insults to their children and maybe an instance where the bounty hunter takes them hostage. In any event, the “Origins” take is still hilarious, and even Nut is starting to get in on the one-liners parade that seems to encompass each and every episode. Keep ’em coming!
