The new season of Our Cartoon President premieres on January 26, 2020 and will hit all the major points of the upcoming election: the race for a democratic nominee, Trump’s impeachment trial, and billionaires attempting to buy the election. The team uses super-fast state-of-the-art animation techniques to keep up with the politics of the week, making it one of the fastest animated shows on television. The team writes, records, animates, and edits cold opens overnight in a matter of hours.
Based on a recurring segment from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the show is an extremely witty examination of the Trump presidency the the key players that surround him. This season, the show is bringing in exciting new voice talent, including Jon Glaser (Delocated) and Jim Downey (SNL), who will join Jack McBrayer, Tim Robinson, Matt Rogers, Gabriel Gundacker, James Adomain (check out his Bernie Sander My Little Pony bit on Conan), and more as the absurd yet all-too-real world of Our Cartoon President grows and expands–even as we prepare for post-Trump comedy.
There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
