CBS All Access Orders TOONING OUT THE NEWS From The Producers Of “Our Cartoon President”
Not only is there a new season of Our Cartoon President coming in January, but CBS All Access is teaming up with the producers of that same show, namely Stephen Colbert, Chris Licht, Tim Luecke, and RJ Fried, for a new daily animated series called Tooning Out The News.
TOONING OUT THE NEWS is a variety series featuring a cast of animated characters mocking real-world events the same day that they happen, and even interviewing real-world guests and newsmakers. I’m hearing that Tooning Out The News may premiere in late February and will look to wrap sometime in late August.
The series is said to have a bit of a late-night/cable news feel similar to The Daily Show or The Colbert Report which is actually a premise that HBO tried with Jon Stewart before it was canceled.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
