Late Show: Colbert Talks To Parnell About “Rick and Morty ; Drops “Our Cartoon President” Gift

Chris Parnell is continuing his press tour for Rick and Morty Season Four and he stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where he talked all about his path to being a voice actor including nailing a lead role in Rick and Morty in the role as “Jerry”. Currently, Rick and Morty is on hiatus until next year when it’s expected to return to complete the show’s fourth season.

In Rick and Morty, after having been missing for nearly 20 years, Rick Sanchez suddenly arrives at daughter Beth’s doorstep to move in with her and her family. Although Beth welcomes Rick into her home, her husband, Jerry, isn’t as happy about the family reunion. Jerry is concerned about Rick, a sociopathic scientist, using the garage as his personal laboratory. In the lab, Rick works on a number of sci-fi gadgets, some of which could be considered dangerous. But that’s not all Rick does that concerns Jerry. He also goes on adventures across the universe that often involve his grandchildren, Morty and Summer.

In related news, Colbert gave us a sneak peek as to what to expect for the third season of Our Cartoon President which we now know will premiere in January only on Showtime.

“Our Cartoon President” is based off a recurring segment of Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” A workplace comedy in which the room is oval takes a look at the 45th president, his confidants, and his family members. The cartoon-president opens the doors to the White House for an all-access look at a normal day in the life of the president. Nothing is safe in this comedy, including relationships, confidants, key political figures of both parties, and even the media.
